In Progress Catalog Pages

These are the catalog layouts I have created for the in progress critique on Monday. First is the spread for my child swatch. Next is the spread for my journey and lastly the adult's journey. The next parts are about my cubes. The first spread of that section is about how to fold and construct each cube. Then I have four pages all together to explain my process and the three cubes.

Cubes!

These are my finished cubes. The top left one is the family themed one (in the pre critique it was suggested that I add textures so I added textures that represented who each color represented). The middle left is the beach themed cube and lowest picture is the disney themed cube. They were all photographed during Wednesday's class so they could be used in the catalog pages.

My ideation for the chroma cubes and catalog (In progress)

All of these pictures are from my sketchbook. To start my brainstorming for my cubes I did the recommended word list and expanded on it. I started with the word memory and branched out from there. After that I chose three words to build on, disney, beach and family.

< from there I branched out twice from each word (Disney)

< Family

< Beach

< and from there I started to draw out my ideas from patterns of each of the six sides.

< I decided that I wanted to fold it a special way instead of using the template so I started to sketch out directions.

< Sketches for the Disney cube
At the picture above (child) and the one to the left (adult) is the written information about the process and about the colors (what picture they came from, what the person thought about the color and its pantone match).

< This is the same information just for my journey.

< This is the rough draft I wrote up about the process of how I created my cubes.

< Sketches for catalog layouts

< This is the rough sketch and written instructions for how to construct the cube sides. These instructions are now in the cube spread.

< These are the sketched directions on how to actually construct the cube, which is now in my cube layout.

These are the pictures from the child's journey. He rode a trike down the hallway of elementary school and pointed out things he liked. Most of the items were artwork or signs on the walls. Many of the items were orange because that is his favorite color.

These are the pictures from my journey. It was my journey from my room to the art building. The pictures include my towel, sheets, backpack, keys, and the flowers outside my dorm. I took the pictures with my phone.

These pictures are from the adult she took pictures of things she saw throughout her day. Her pictures included things in her house and items she saw while she ran errands.
